We always start with a free meal for our Ujima families. Following dinner, we have a night filled with fun activities.
Infants (2 mos. - 1 year)
For our infants, we focus a lot on tummy time, as well as sight/sound recognition. We also encourage social play and mirror images. At this stage, we work with your little one to babble consonant sounds.
Toddlers (1-3 years)
For our terrific toddlers, we encourage them to say simple words and make simple phrases. Following instructions is also important, as well as repeating language repeated by someone else.
Preschool (3-5 years)
Our preschool students focus on grasping concepts of grammar and creating short stories. We also encourage various language concepts such as understanding "opposites" and "similarities" in the world.
K-5th Grade
For our little ones preparing to enter the classroom, we work on reading/writing. We want to make sure our environment is encouraging so students are not discouraged, especially when reading aloud in front of others. We work on reading comprehension through fun games and learning activities. We also encourage the creation of short stories.
